After five and a half years in the always rainy state of Washington, we’ll be saying our “good-byes” soon. Just recently my husband was selected for the Aviation Warrant Officer program and within a few short weeks, we’ll be packing up and calling Fort Rucker, Alabama home. Oh, sunshine, we’ve certainly missed you!
Spring has finally arrived here in Washington – Hurrah! The skies were the prettiest shade of blue and the temperatures made their way into the mid-fifties. It was the perfect day for a little bit of exploring with my sweet, sweet Madeline.

Parsley, basil and cilantro – these are a few of my favorite fresh herbs. And, when I noticed these adorable little terracotta pots at our local craft store, I immediately knew how my Sunday morning would be spent. I began the morning painting a few coats of chalkboard paint onto the pots and by the afternoon they were dry and ready to be labeled. Once the herbs are planted, these little pots will adorn our kitchen windowsill.
